New days

After a busy election season I’m exhausted, trying to figure what to do next…

Something that has hit me is, I’ve spent so much time in the past encouraging others to share both the positive but mostly the difficult times of their lives. That by sharing those difficult times it gives others the strength & realization that they are not alone in their own struggles.  The issue I’ve realized is that I have found myself reverting back to my childhood… A time when that one thing, was something that we were not allowed to do, so I’ve decided until next election that is exactly what I will use this blog to do…

Yesterday afternoon I was headed to the 4pm service & the flood off the overflowing toilet hit, needless to say I missed service. However the floor got cleaned…
Then the loneliness came over me like that over flowing toilet…
Missing my daughter who moved to Texas with her Dad a year ago…
Missing friends, one in particular that I am completely surprised has not been in touch and just hoping that he is well, happy & healthy…

And life goes on…

Campaign trail

Woke up a few days this weekAdele for Mayor to a beautiful blanket of snow covering Parker & the Denver metro area.

The beauty of the pure white snow reminds me of how lucky we are in this country to have the choices to get involved or not to get involved, to vote or not to vote as well a the many other choices we have. Though sometimes is does seem extreme, with over 15 different kind of diapers, cough medicines or toilet paper… Which one is the best, which one fits all of our needs and which one tells us how it will benefit us over the other.

With all the choices we have how can we be sure that everyone is playing by the same rules we are, how can we be sure that we are being spoken the truth especially during this political season. Choices are good, competition is good but what happened to ethics…

As a world Champion & world record holder in high Diving, I worked hard to achieve those titles performed over 7000 high dives above 70 ft in front of thousands around the world. I trained for hour after hour to make sure I could accomplish these goals. No, I didn’t always win but I always did the best I could do at the time. Isn’t that how we should treat life, always do the best we can do…

Being honest, listening to the community & those who have concerns, as well as ideas for the community are important to me.  Those are the things that Mayor should be bringing back to town council.

Coming to an end

I know that we are all ready for an end to the campaign signs, commercials, calls & everything else that goes along with campaign season… I’d say none more them myself but I know we all want it over…
I really thought that local politics would be more about who would do the best job, I am so amazed at the amount of negative campaigning done even on a local level…
I guess if you have nothing else to offer then you go for the negative campaigning… Even on a local level…

It will all be over soon…Adele 2012

2 Weeks to go

2 weeks to go and the election is over…

Tonight was our final debate and I have to admit I’ve done some growing but have a great deal of growing to do…

I believe that I would make a great Mayor of Parker and I would bring a fresh change to town council.  I would lead the redevelopment to the Cottonwood Commercial area.

Come and join us dance and talk to about your concerns for the Town of Parker

It’s important to me that the community of Parker have a Mayor and Town Council that have a balance which represents the community through gender, race and age.  A maturity that comes with life experience is a characteristic I will bring to the leadership of Town Council.

It is important to me as the Mayor of Parker to work as a mentor to Town Council guiding focus toward:

  • Supporting family and safety.
  • Supporting parks and open space.
  • Working to help grow existing retailers and shopping, helping existing merchants grow.
  • I will be a strong representative of the Town in local, regional and national venues.

I plan to continue being a positive role model to our youth by speaking about the importance of  involvement in the community and visiting schools, churches and youth groups.  Teaching our children that by banding together as a family and a community and getting involved we can make change that will benefit the community as a whole.
